Based out of Los Angeles CA, Amy Beauchamp and José Cancela are a 5-time Emmy Award winning composing team. Amy and José "consistently produce music that pushes the emotional boundaries of what music could/should be -La Opinion." Formed in 2002, The Lux Auditory 18 creates original scores for Film, Television and New Media.






Amy Marie Beauchamp

Amy Marie Beauchamp is a 5-time Emmy Award winning Film/TV Composer from Northern California. Amy began her classical musical training on piano at age 5. Her training morphed into learning to play several more instruments and interpreting additional styles of music year after year. She participated in numerous performances with Band and All State Honor Bands in grade school throughout high school. When she had time off from her studies, she attended regional music camps playing clarinet in orchestral performances. Just prior to college, Amy toured with the Santa Clara Vanguard A Corps as a mallet percussionist competing with several Corps across the nation. After graduating high school, Amy attended the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. It was there where she continued her participation, playing clarinet in the Berklee Wind Ensemble for several performances at the famed Berklee Performance Hall. Her performances with the Wind Ensemble culminated with a first chair clarinet solo with the late Michael Kamen conducting his music from Mr. Holland's Opus for the Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation. After completing her undergraduate studies at Berklee and receiving a dual Bachelors of Music degree in Film Scoring and Music Synthesis, Amy moved to Los Angeles with her husband José Cancela to focus on film scoring. Over the next several years, Amy was awarded five Emmy's for her work on various projects with HBO.  In 2014, Amy and José joined forces with Composer Michael Reola to form the Music Team TLA18.


José Manuel Cancela

José Manuel Cancela is a 5-time Emmy Award winning Film/TV Composer originally from Spain. José’s interest in music began when he was 6 years old and he picked up the Galician Bagpipes. He then began his formal training at the Musikschule in Hannover, Germany where he was instructed in Classical and Modern Piano as well as Drum set. At nine years old José began to work as a professional musician in several orchestras touring the EU as well as the former USSR. After a decade of touring with several multi---platinum recording artists José was accepted at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Degree in Professional Music and went directly on tour with Cirque Ingenieux as Musical Director. After finishing the tour, José moved to Los Angeles where he started a music production company with his wife, providing music for Film, Television and other media ventures. In 2014, Amy and José joined forces with Composer Michael Reola to form the music team TLA18.
